A Message From Our President:

Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Lambda Kappa Omega Chapter, located in Fairfax County, VA.

Realizing the need for an organization such as ours in Fairfax County, 23 dynamic women formed and ultimately chartered a chapter on December 18, 1976, under the leadership of then Mid-Atlantic Regional Director, Janet Jones Ballard.

I am honored to serve as president of this intergenerational chapter, comprised of over 300 college educated women from diverse backgrounds. We share a deep love for our sorority which is shown in our community and chapter work. Partnering with the Educational and Charitable Foundation, founded by our chapter members over 20 years ago, we have awarded over $200,000 in college and medical school scholarships and implemented successful educational, health, financial, social justice, and environmental programs in the county and across the globe.

We are excited to support and connect with the community via the 2022-2026 SOAR Initiative under the leadership of our International President and CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, and Mid-Atlantic Regional Director, Nadine Vargas Stewart.
